Day 5 - High Lonely

930 miles

We have to make better time. Up early and no taking care of things like we are at home. Up at 5:30 am, feed the dogs and walk them, move all the stuff out into the cars, give Wendy some medicine, fill the gas tanks and WOAH! We lost a phone credit card. Back to the motel! Simon and Tony wait at MacDonald's and - we can't find the card. 8:07 departure from Twin Falls, Idaho.

Finally feel like I'm not fighting with the truck. Sailed with a tail wind through the rest of Idaho and Utah went quickly. It's time for a treat so lets stop a little earlier and have a little bit of a vacation. A fancier room in a hotel with room service and a nice dinner with appetizer and some desert, too. It is hard for me not to panic with so much of the future an unknown, yet forward is the word and chin up because we create our own reality in this world.

We're in Rock Springs some 6000 + feet above sea level in a place where the land spreads out so far in every direction. Outcroppings of rock and badlands change places as you drive and when everything is settled down you come to a bend in the road and it is all different again. Met a very interesting man at dinner who sells mining machinery here. The same people who are ranchers are also coal miners doing strip mining. That is a major undertaking here in Wyoming but, like clear cutting, you don't see it from the highway.
